Neelesh Misra’s baritone voice and his flair for telling stories have resurrected the art of story-telling on Indian radio. With a brand new prime time, Pan India show The Neelesh Misra Show, on RED FM, and Kahani Express on Saavn, he is again bringing back the magic of heart touching stories.
His award winning primetime show, Yaadon Ka Idiot Box with Neelesh Misra on 92.7 BIG FM aired in 39 stations spanning 89-cities . This show is seen as the biggest radio innovation in recent times. In these shows, he narrates stories written by him and a group of young writers he mentors (collectively called the Mandali) every day of an imaginary city Yaad Sheher that he has created. His show has a record of 40 million listeners every week and an estimated 10 million internet views for the audio content every month.
One of Bollywood’s prominent lyricists, Neelesh Misra has written lyrics for more than 30 films, latest being the song Jhumritalaiya from Jagga Jasoos. He has worked with some of the leading composers such as Pritam, Sajid-Wajid, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Anu Malik and Sandesh Shandilya and created magic with songs like Bepanah Pyaar hai aaja ( Krishna Cottage), Jadu hai nasha hai ( Jism), Miane Dil Se Kaha (Rog), Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai ( Who Lamhe), Lamha Lamha ( Gangster), I love You ( Bodyguard), Apna Pata Zindagi ( Bajrangi Bhaijaan), Kyon ( Barfi) and many more.
He is an award winning Journalist, Author and Speaker. An entrepreneur, Neelesh has launched India’s first rural newspaper Gaon Connection. This is India’s first professionally run rural newspaper, hailed as one of the biggest media innovations in recent years.
